Along time coming - 22nd Aug 2010
Wow sorry it has taken so long to update this. I've been busy.

Updates...I am now a self-employed freelance groom and house/ horse/ dog sitter.

We have had a hard season this year as we have unfortunatly had ponies go lame. They are recovering well though and we hope not to have anymore injuries.

Riders haven't had too many injuries so far this season. 1 rider badly hurt her back and then hurt her foot a couple of months later but this wasn't from a riding accident.

I don't think there is much more to say. We've been working hard to over come all the problems thrown at us as a team and hope nothing else goes wrong.

Bank holiday weekend we're competing at Newark and Notts showground for Intercounties (our most important competition of the season) where the winning team for each age group becomes British Champions.

Wish us luck!
Shrewsbury - 24th Apr 2010 and 25th Apr 2010
Our first weekend back competiting and I loved it.

after our first race me and Missy hit the deck. As we followed the fence along the end of the arena Missy slipped and we went into the metal fence. We are both ok but I have a few cuts. We carried on though and Missy was a super star. I couldn't have been any happier with how she went.

Danni from HayGain came and watched and I think she was impressed and enjoyed watching. Thanks for coming Danni.

Our afternoon session wasn't my best as I made 2 mistakes but they weren't vital and we only dropped a point or 2.

After we'd ridden I went and saw First Aid to get my cuts cleaned up and then relaxed. We watched Britians Got Talent (happens every year! It has to be done) and then it was time to get ready for the party! It was School Theme and so out came the old school uniforms. We had an amazing night having a few drinks, laughs and dances with old friends.

Sunday morning it was back to the riding. The session was a tough one buit went well with me and Missy not making a single mistake but working hard and going well. Unfortunatly the team didn't make up enough points and we were in the B final.

It started off well with us being in the lead most of the way. I did the tyre race on a team mates pony which is bigger than Missy and forgot how much bigger he was but still managed to vault on.
We went into the last race with a chance to win but unfortunaly I was left out of the last race (the trainer does things we don't understand but he does).

After the last race we finished in 3rd place which wasn't bad as Boo in our team had never ridden Quinney before and it was 2 of the riders first competition back in the season.

Our next competition is at Chepstow on bank holiday weekend and we're hoping to make the A final and keep improving.
Update - 14th Apr 2010
I've been training alot in my field and things seem to be going really well. I have a training session on Sunday at Pontispool.

On 24th and 25th I have my first proper competition in Shrewsbury. I am in a team with 2 welsh riders and an Irish rider (we like to be international! haha). We are really looking forward to it.

I have just sent off the entry for the British and World pairs this year which I am doing with my friend.

Thrills and Spills! - 21st Mar 2010
Today has been a long day!!

I woke up at 6:15 and got out of bed at 6:45!! i didn't need to put I got bored of laying in bed waiting. After breakfast we got to the horse park and got the ponies sorted before doing some assistant refing. Then we tacked up and had a good first session. Winning a couple of races. It meant we were in joint 4th place with another team. As only the top 4 teams could be in the A final it meant we needed to do a run off later on which would be 5 flag to determin who would be in the A and B final.

After we watched the age groups and then had pizza for lunch and sang Happy Birthday to Morgan who was celebrating her 21st today.

After lunch we nearly fell asleep on the grass but realised really...we needed to get ready for the run off.

It started ok. Charlotte on Fida 9not the fastest pony but a cute, funny one) went first and came back just behind the other team. Then i did a massive flyer and caught up over the change over and then over took. Then unfortunatly the change over between me and Lavinia didn't go to plan. As lavinia was doing a flyer and I was going full speed we snapped the flag in half and both halves ended up on the floor. This pretty much meant...game over!!

so...we had made the B final. That meant we got the cheer on the A final and watch such a close race. It turned out that the team we were against in the run off (Quick Silver) actually won the final!! Speedy's owner, Laura, was in the team and even though she injured herself AGAIN (she is accident prone) she carried on for her team.

then it was our turn. Mty firts 2 races didnt' go to plan but then I pulled it together and actually helped the team. We worked hard and won the B final. Before the last race we couldn't get caught!!

After riding we cooled the ponies up and packed up! i said good bye to Speedy, Laura, Carroll (Laura's mum) and new friends I had made. We loaded up the ponies and made our way back.

Now we are all feelign very tired and are off to bed.

Night ya'll!! x
