End of Season - 2nd Oct 2010 and 3rd Oct 2010
Our end of Season was at Shrewsbury on 2nd and 3rd October. We were a mixed team with 2 English riders, 1 welsh, 1 Scottish and a girl from Norway so we were very international. We rode under the team Mid Glam Ravens.

We went into our first heat Saturday morning looking to just have fun and I wanted to see how Lady went on our first run out together. We came out of our heat with 32 points, which meant we won that heat. We were shocked and so happy. We had had fun and went well. Lady and me didn't put a foot wrong and I was so proud. The girl from Norway in our team was called Karen and she borrowed my other pony Ben. They went really well together and clicked.

We went into our 2nd heat looking forward to just enjoying ourselves not expecting on doing so well. However we came out with good points again and were told we were running 5th over all. We were shocked and very happy with such a mixed team of riders and ponies.
Our team went out that night in good spirits, joining in with the fancy dress theme. We had a super man (our Scottish rider Euan) and the rest of us were ravers!

Sunday morning came and we woke up to the sound of rain. Not a good sign. One of our riders had a sister in the arena at 8am and I was told that when she finished she was soaked to the bone. A meeting was then held by the MGA with all the MGA officials going and discussing the weather.

The competition was put back by an hour to see if the weather improved. In that hour my mum and me started packing up the lorry (with my brother still asleep!) Unfortunately the rain didn't get better but got worse so Sundays competing was cancelled. The arena was water logged and it wasn't worth risking the ponies or us. So we all started packing up all our things and the ponies.

Lorries were getting stuck everywhere but luckily we moved Sunday morning as soon as we woke up before it rained more and managed to get onto the hard standing.

We left wet but happy. It meant we came 5th over all, which we were VERY happy about, and also all the ponies and riders had gone well. Lady and Ben hadn't put a foot wrong.
I would like to say a massive thank you to my team mates for that weekend which was Zoe Elder, Euan Taylor, Katie Manwaring and Karen Houge
Along time coming - 22nd Aug 2010
Wow sorry it has taken so long to update this. I've been busy.

Updates...I am now a self-employed freelance groom and house/ horse/ dog sitter.

We have had a hard season this year as we have unfortunatly had ponies go lame. They are recovering well though and we hope not to have anymore injuries.

Riders haven't had too many injuries so far this season. 1 rider badly hurt her back and then hurt her foot a couple of months later but this wasn't from a riding accident.

I don't think there is much more to say. We've been working hard to over come all the problems thrown at us as a team and hope nothing else goes wrong.

Bank holiday weekend we're competing at Newark and Notts showground for Intercounties (our most important competition of the season) where the winning team for each age group becomes British Champions.

Wish us luck!
Shrewsbury - 24th Apr 2010 and 25th Apr 2010
Our first weekend back competiting and I loved it.

after our first race me and Missy hit the deck. As we followed the fence along the end of the arena Missy slipped and we went into the metal fence. We are both ok but I have a few cuts. We carried on though and Missy was a super star. I couldn't have been any happier with how she went.

Danni from HayGain came and watched and I think she was impressed and enjoyed watching. Thanks for coming Danni.

Our afternoon session wasn't my best as I made 2 mistakes but they weren't vital and we only dropped a point or 2.

After we'd ridden I went and saw First Aid to get my cuts cleaned up and then relaxed. We watched Britians Got Talent (happens every year! It has to be done) and then it was time to get ready for the party! It was School Theme and so out came the old school uniforms. We had an amazing night having a few drinks, laughs and dances with old friends.

Sunday morning it was back to the riding. The session was a tough one buit went well with me and Missy not making a single mistake but working hard and going well. Unfortunatly the team didn't make up enough points and we were in the B final.

It started off well with us being in the lead most of the way. I did the tyre race on a team mates pony which is bigger than Missy and forgot how much bigger he was but still managed to vault on.
We went into the last race with a chance to win but unfortunaly I was left out of the last race (the trainer does things we don't understand but he does).

After the last race we finished in 3rd place which wasn't bad as Boo in our team had never ridden Quinney before and it was 2 of the riders first competition back in the season.

Our next competition is at Chepstow on bank holiday weekend and we're hoping to make the A final and keep improving.
Update - 14th Apr 2010
I've been training alot in my field and things seem to be going really well. I have a training session on Sunday at Pontispool.

On 24th and 25th I have my first proper competition in Shrewsbury. I am in a team with 2 welsh riders and an Irish rider (we like to be international! haha). We are really looking forward to it.

I have just sent off the entry for the British and World pairs this year which I am doing with my friend.
